Grant Tosterud

KRBC Morning Meteorologist

Grant Tosterud grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, where he experienced both ends of weather extremes from severe cold and blizzards to severe weather and tornadoes. He remembers experiencing wind chills as cold as 60 degrees below zero, to heat indices as high as 110 in the summer, to blizzards with snow drifts as high as houses and record breaking floods. That is what sparked his interest in meteorology at a young age. The last two years of high school, Grant interned at Valley News Live in Fargo, and this is what made him want to go into broadcast meteorology.

Grant attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman to pursue his dream of becoming a meteorologist. While at OU, Grant was a student meteorologist for the student-run newscast. He also spent some time storm chasing. Grant graduated in 2017 with a degree in meteorology and a minor in broadcast meteorology. He also interned at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City. Grant is very excited to start his broadcast meteorology career in Texas!
