Clyde PD assist DPS in seizure of meth, cocaine

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - More drugs are off the streets of Clyde and it's all thanks to a dog named Achilles.

The K9 duo of Officer Christopher Barnett and Achilles assisted the Texas Department of Public Safety on a traffic stop Tuesday night.

DPS requested assistance from Clyde police to use its K9 to search for narcotics on a vehicle they stopped on Interstate 20. .

With a positive alert, DPS was able to seize five ounces of methamphetamine and 10 grams of cocaine.

Officials believe the suspect was headed to Abilene to possibly distribute the drugs.

The suspect was taken into custody and will be facing federal charges.
