Abilene Community Theatre honors veterans

Abilene Community Theatre is proud to present A PIECE OF MY HEART, written by Shirley Lauro and directed by Ginger Vinson. Performances will be November 2nd thru November 12th on ACT’s Main Stage.


A PIECE OF MY HEART is a powerful, true drama of six women who went to Vietnam: five nurses and a country western singer booked by an unscrupulous agent to entertain the troops. The play portrays each young woman before, during, and after her tour in the war-torn nation.


The cast of A PIECE OF MY HEART includes Melyssa Ditmore, Gavyn Hardegree, Mary Hardegree, Amber Jordan, Larla Morales, Kayla Weinkauf, and Bryan Alaniz. A PIECE OF MY HEART is directed by Abilene High School technical theatre teacher and ACT Board President Ginger Vinson, who is assisted by Amber Hale.


A PIECE OF MY HEART will be performed at Abilene Community Theatre, 809 Barrow Street, on November 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th, & 11th at 7:30pm, and a matinee performance on Sunday, November 12th at 2pm.


In addition to performances, ACT is sponsoring a Veteran’s Day Meal for Veterans before the November 11th performance from 5 to 7pm. The meal is free for veterans, with a suggested $5 for non-veterans. Additionally, admission to the November 11th performance is free to veterans. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling the Box Office at 325-673-6271.


Tickets are $15 for general admission, and $13 for seniors, active military, and students. Tickets will go on sale for current season ticket holders on October 23rd, and to the general public on October 30th.  Tickets may be reserved online at http://www.abilenecommunitytheatre.org/actabilene-tickets/, or by calling the Box Office at 325-673-6271.
