Creating your own chalk couture board

Jennifer Martinez of 23 Junk Street shows us how to make a chalk couture board that is perfect for a personalized Christmas gift.

  • Old or new frames with glass and backing
  • Duck brand adhesive vinyl chalkboard (Wal-Mart)
  • Chalk Couture brand stencils and Chalk Paste
  • Paint (optional)
  • Squeegee

  1. Remove the glass from the frame.
  2. Paint the frame desired color.
  3. Place the vinyl upside down and using the glass as a guide cut the vinyl to fit the glass. Remove the vinyl backing and place the vinyl again upside down making sure the sticky side is up.
  4. Place the glass on the vinyl.
  5. Turn over and use the squeegee to remove all the air bubbles starting in the center and working your way out.
  6. While the glass is still out of the frame, use Chalk Couture to decorate your chalkboard as you wish!

***Chalk Couture erases just like chalk so change your chalkboard as often as you like!
