On Saturday, April 13th, the city of Eastland is hosting the first ever Rips Ribs Cook Off. It's an event full of entertainment, but the biggest attraction of the day is their Ribs Competition.
Thirty cooking teams are participating in the contest where they must create the best St. Louis style pork ribs.
Food Network's "Chopped" Champion and TSTC instructor, Sandy Davis came by the show Friday to explain what people can expect from the event and what he looks for when it comes to great ribs.
"I'm looking for ribs that have texture, flavor, juiciness, and not dry," says Davis.
Entertainment will also include performances from the Lone Star Lead & Lace.
