How-To Tuesday: Halloween Decor

Mummy Candles

  • Glass jars
  • Gauze
  • Googly eyes
  • Liquid Starch

Instructions: Make sure the glass jar is clean. Have an 8”-10” shallow bowl of liquid starch half full. Cut several 24” strips of gauze and set aside. Begin by dipping the gauze in the liquid starch and wrapping from top to bottom leaving several spaces between gauze. Continue this process eventually covering most empty space to desired look.

Snake Wreath

  • Twig Wreath
  • Black matte spray paint
  • Rubber Toy snakes
  • Red Craft Paint
  • Small artist brush
  • Hot Glue and gun

Instructions: Start by taking your black matte spray paint and painting your entire twig wreath leaving no unpainted spots. Lay all your rubber snakes out on cardboard and begin spray painting them as well. Let dry for up to 30 minutes then flip them and paint the opposite side. The black paint will cover any details on the snake so go back in and create red eyes to complete look. Add as many of them within the wreath you feel necessary and enjoy!

Chalk Couture Signs

  • Choose a canvas:
    • Wood, glass, plastic, or almost anything with a smooth surface.
  • Chalk Couture Transfer
  • Chalkology Paste
  • Application tool
  • Wax

Instructions: Prepare your canvas with wax. Allow it to cure for 24 hours. Simply lay the transfer on the surface of your canvas and swipe Chalkology Paste evenly across the transfer making sure it’s thick enough to cover the first time. If the paste is too thin, it will dry too quickly and not adhere to the canvas. Once your paste is dry, you can layer it with other colors or transfers to create your own piece of art!
