You're invited to our SOS (Stories of Scripture) children's program. Our theme this year is "Cooking Up Some Fun" at Oldham Lane Church of Christ! Each Wednesday night we will act out a story from the Bible for the kids. The interactive lesson will be followed by a craft that relates to the lesson. There will also be puppets and singing! SOS is free and open to all kids up through 5th grade!
The Alzheimer’s Association invites Big Country residents to unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, September 20, 2014. The two-mile Walk begins at 8:00 am with opening ceremonies led by this year’s honorary chair, Mayor Norm Archibald. Before they begin their trek, walkers will join in a meaningful ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease. Those living with Alzheimer’s will be honored and those who have succumbed to the disease are remembered. The Walk will take place at Rose Park Senior Center located at S. 7th and Barrow Street in Abilene. Walkers will return to a festive atmosphere with refreshments, prizes, team photos, face painting for children and the well-loved music of Big Country’s own Elvis tribute artist Harvey McFadden.
We will be hosting a Skeet Shoot at the Hubbard Creek Ranch near Albany, Texas in the morning.
That evening we will have a concert with Bleu Edmondson, a catered rib-eye dinner, open bar, and silent and live auctions, these auctions have AMAZING items.
Individual tickets are $35.00 or you can have a table for 8 at $250.00.
