4 Arrested, 3 Injured in Brownwood Shooting

(BROWNWOOD, TX) - Three were injured and four more were arrested after a shooting in Brownwood Monday night.

According to the Brownwood Police Department, officers received multiple calls regarding a shooting on the 2200 block of Fisk Avenue just before 6:00 p.m.

When they arrived at the location, they found three assault victims - one had sustained a gunshot would to the head.

He was flown to a hospital in Ft. Worth and the other two injured parties were treated at the scene.

Investigators have determined the victims were doing landscape work in an open field when four male subjects confronted them and started a fight.

All four suspects, Rontrell Young, 21, Brice Davis, 17, Marcus Phillips, 21, and Melvin Young, 25, were located nearby, arrested, and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The men are all held in the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling at least $150,000 each.

The current condition of the victim who suffered a gunshot wound to the head is unknown. The others are expected to make a full recovery.

The Brownwood Police Department appreciates everyone who helped deesclate the situation, saying in a press release, "A special thank you is extended to all of the medical responders for their quick action.  Also 911 callers proved invaluable with the information they provided.  It is through your assistance, through community involvement, that the arrests were able to be made."
