The Taylor County Expo Center has been busy all this week with the 4-H Horse Show Competition.

This the 30th annual 4-H competition at the Expo Center. This year there was another bid to have the competition in a new city. Abilene received another five years.

Hundreds of kids compete, family members come, and thousands of horses fill the Expo grounds. Many businesses see the impact of this week with increase visitors to the Abilene area.

One competitor is from Caldwell City and it was her first time to compete in the 4-H competition. Sabine Lazo says, she has enjoyed Abilene since there is a lot to do here.

Sabine says that she and her mother went shopping at some local Western stores that are sponsors at the competition. She has also enjoyed the facility and wishes that after the competition is over they had more time to spend in Abilene.

But Sabine is here to win more ribbons and belt buckles. She has been riding horses since she was two years old and couldn't imagine doing anything else.

She has enjoyed the competition and hopes she places in an event to go to the finals on Saturday. Sabine said that no matter what she will come to Abilene again next year for the competition.
