The Abilene Country Club is honoring their former general manager who passed away from ALS in January.

The Country Club has named the street at their entrance after Ed Grothaus. Many say even before they did that, it was tough to drive into the course without thinking of him.

He served as GM more than 20 years. A major ice bucket challenge was held in his honor. More than 60 golf carts lined up and dumped ice on themselves. They raised more than $4,000 through the challenge.
