Abilene Man Arrested for Child Sex Crime After Victim's 2nd Outcry

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene man was arrested for a child sex crime after the victim made an outcry for the second time.

Brian Colter, 39, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with Indecency with a Child in connection to allegations of ongoing abuse that the victim claims happened from September of 2011 through June of 2015.

Court documents say the victim initially made an outcry in August of 2014 but during a later interview, she told detectives she lied about the allegations against Colter.

The victim came forward again in 2016, saying she recanted the initial outcry out of fear, according to the documents, which state the victim's mother told detectives Colter was making threats against the victim and her family.

The victim then told detectives Colter had sexually abused her at several locations in Abilene, Texas, for years while she was under the age of 14.

Colter was released from the Taylor County Jail after posting a $15,000 bond.
