Abilene Man Arrested for Two Robberies

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene man was arrested on multiple robbery charges Wednesday after his get-away car led detectives straight to his door!

Charles Brewer, 29, was taken into custody for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery and 2nd Degree Robbery in connection to the crimes. He's being held on bonds totaling $150,000.

Police arrested Brewer after responding to a Robbery at a grocery store on the 900 block of N. Willis Street around 6:30 a.m. Abilene Police say employees reported a suspect, later identified as Brewer, entered the store, shoved a clerk, then grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing in a white SUV with paper tags.

Detectives were able to locate this vehicle outside a home in southwest Abilene. Police told KTAB and KRBC Brewer was then identified as the suspect and arrested without incident.

Brewer is also accused of entering a gas station on the 4800 block of S. 14th street just after 6:00 a.m. The clerk at that store told detectives Brewer, "came into the store, asked the clerk to make change, and left in a white SUV with paper tags," according to a press release from APD. Brewer did not get any money at this location.

Jail records show Brewer's 2nd Degree Robbery charge is connected to an incident that happened on February 28, 2017. No further information about that robbery has been provided.
