ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene man who's been charged with child sex crimes in multiple counties has been convicted and sentenced to 20 years for one of those charges.
Leon Fletcher, Jr., 50, was convicted for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and sentenced in Jones County on Wednesday in connection to a crime that happened fifteen years ago. In addition to the 20-year sentence, Fletcher will also have to register as a sex offender for life.
The Jones County District Attorney's Office says Fletcher impregnated a 13-year-old girl. Jones County became aware of these allegations when the Abilene Police Department stumbled upon them during their investigation into another child sex crime case involving Fletcher.
Fletcher is facing an Indecency with a Child charge in Taylor County in connection to a case that happened in January of 2012. No further information on that case is available at this time.
He's currently being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $50,000 bond for an Indecency with a Child charge.
