Abilene Man in Jail for Hitting Victim with a Vehicle and Fleeing

An Abilene man is in jail after police say he intentionally ran over another man with his vehicle following a disturbance Saturday afternoon.

As of early Sunday night, 19-year-old Mackenzie Chastang is at the Taylor County Jail on a $35,000 bond. He's been accused of using his vehicle as a deadly weapon and striking a male victim.

The incident happened after 3 p.m. on the 1000 block of South Clack Street. The victim sustained injuries and was sent to Hendrick Medical Center.

The arrest report states that Chastang fled in his vehicle and was later found at the 4500 block of Southwest Drive an hour later.

Chastang has been charged with 2nd degree felony aggravated assault.
