Officers face dangerous situations everyday, and sometimes don't get the recognition they deserve for putting themselves in harm's way. On April 23rd APD came together to not only show their support for their own, but also hand out certificates to citizens who jumped into the fight to help.

Shane Meffert is one of the citizens who collected data for Chief Standridge to take to city council. That data was collected from hours of 911 calls, and led to head shops being forced out of industrial zones.

Officer of the year went to Jimmy Woods.
