ABILENE, TX-An Abilene grandmother got an unexpected call last month with the news that her granddaughter has reached out to the family.

Imagene Duncan, 87, never laid eyes on her granddaughter after she was delivered in San Antonio. Duncan's daughter decided to give her child to an adoption agency after going through a negative relationship with her baby's father. According to Duncan, the decision was made out of love and for the best interest of the baby.

None of the family has ever heard nor seen from the granddaughter until one day last month. Duncan's daughter, who now lives in South Carolina, received a call from the adoption agency in San Antonio saying a woman was looking for her parents.

Lo and behold, it was Tammy Renee Foss, 46, Duncan's granddaughter. Foss lives in Amarillo and has served in the military and was a sniper for the S.W.A.T. team.

Her decision to figure out her mother's side came after both of her adopted parents passed away. On her birth certificate listed out her father's information and where she was placed for adoption.

For the past few weeks, Foss has exchanged letters and pictures to her family. On Sunday, she drove to Duncan's home where her grandmother and uncle were waiting.

The encounter was a momentous experience. Foss stayed the following day and spent as much time catching up on family history, traits, and pictures.

According to Imagene, Foss looks and sounds like her mother, and that she was excited to have finally met her.
