'Armed and Dangerous' Suspect Wanted in Callahan County

CALLAHAN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A suspect authorities consider "armed and dangerous" is still on the run after firing shots at two people in Callahan County Saturday afternoon.

The Callahan County Sheriff's Office says law enforcement agencies across the region are searching for Clifton Boyd Lindsey.

Lindsey is accused of firing shots at two bail bondsmen who were attempting to make contact with him at a home near the intersection of Hwy 6 and CR 305.

One the bondsmen says they watched the property for hours before encountering Lindsey, and when they finally found him and made eye contact, Lindsey pulled out a gun and opened fire "without warning", according to a witness report filed with the Sheriff's Office.

The report claims Lindsey fired at the bondsmen several times before fleeing down a nearby creek.

The Abilene Police Department's SWAT team was called to the scene for assistance, but law enforcement officials were unable to locate Lindsey.

Lindsey is now wanted on warrants unrelated to the incident. The Sheriff's Office told KTAB and KRBC he will face additional charges for he shooting once he's taken into custody.

His exact location is not known, but they believe he may still be in the area. The Sheriff's Office also says they are considering Lindsey "armed and dangerous".

Anyone with information on Lindsey's whereabouts is asked to call the Callahan County Sheriff's Office at (325)854-1444.
