Attempted Kidnapping Reported at Eastland Walmart

EASTLAND, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Eastland Police are investigating a report of an attempted kidnapping at Walmart.

Chief of Police David Hullum told KTAB and KRBC a woman reported she was shopping at the store on Main Street in Eastland on Friday when the attempted kidnapping occurred.

Hullum says the woman claims she left her 2-year-old daughter in a shopping basket while she turned around to grab something, and when she glanced back, she noticed a strange man pushing her daughter away.

She began chasing the man, and when she finally caught him, he told her it was just a mistake and walked away, according to what the woman reported to Chief Hullum.

Detectives with the police department are now working with Walmart to get surveillance video of the alleged incident.
