Several activities such as a parade, vintage car show, and a ranch rodeo were part of the Bankhead Days sponsored by the Baird Chamber of Commerce.
The Bankhead Highway ran through west central Texas in the days before Interstate 20 as the first coast-to-coast intercontinental highway.
Organizers say the event is a lot of work, but it's a labor of love.
"I love it!" says Christy King of the Baird Chamber of Commerce. "I get tired, but when it's over with, I'm so glad that it's come together like it has."
King hopes to do more events that will help revitalize the community.
