A Ballinger teen died Wednesday, July 16, in a single vehicle accident. High school junior, Taylor Bowman was traveling North on US 67. She swerved to miss a dog, lost control the vehicle. The car proceeded to roll over and Bowman was ejected because she was not wearing a seat belt.

The community of Ballinger mourned over her loss. One local said that the gloomy weather reflected the feelings of the community.

Bowman was involved in many school activities: Cross country, track, basketball, softball, cheerleading, and competed in UIL academic competitions.

A family friend, Toby Virend, is the Police Chief in Miles, TX and said he heard the accident information over the scanner, but didn't know who was involved.

Virend said that Taylor was a born leader and could motivate anyone.

Taylor will remembered by the entire community.
