Bike Riders Pedal Their Way Across Abilene During Annual Race

The city of Abilene Parks & Recreation Division hosted their 22nd annual Steam-N-Wheels Bike Race and Fun Ride Saturday morning.

Around 250 people participated in the race that included three different routes. The participants chose between a 48-mile, 32-mile or 12-mile course. The course started at the Abilene Zoo and finished at Nelson Park, where they started.

The event was open to all ages and awards were presented to the first three places in each ave division for the 48-mile race. In addition, awards were also given to the top three over-all male and female in the 32 and 12-mile races.
