Independence Day parades are filled with celebration and cheer. Parades serve as a festive reminder of our Nation's birthday, but sometimes, a parade is about much more than meets the eye.
In Abilene, the Hillcrest community held a small parade to celebrate America's 237th birthday. Classic cars, children decorated head to tow in red, white, and blue, and even dogs, took advantage of the holiday, showing off their finest wear.
The parade is a tradition for Independence Day, but one man told us today was a reminder that the good old times are still to come. To him, the holiday will always be about being grateful for all the right and privileges of being an American.
