Starting a healthy diet from an early age has been proven to provide life-long benefits, and experts say it is possible to get your kids to enjoy dinnertime.

Experts say a good way to balance what a kid likes with what a parent wants them to like, is to compromise.

Experts suggest offering dipping sauce for veggies. Also, blend healthier foods into some of their favorites like cheese and broccoli.

While compromise works, experts say parents should not be short order cooks.

Their job is done once the food is on the table. Experts say don't worry if your kids skip a meal because they don't like it. They will get hungry eventually and might be more open to trying what you serve them.

Try setting out healthy snacks, like carrots or fruit, so they can grab and go when they're hungry.

Do you consider yourself a picky eater?

Sometimes all the cheese or ranch dressing in the world can make certain foods taste good.
