The cold blast affecting most of the country has briefly made its way to Abilene, causing some road issues and leaving many people wishing for some warmer weather.

Low temperatures Monday morning came in around eleven degrees with wind chills around zero. Parts of Lake Fort Phantom froze over along with the intersection of Catclaw and South Clack Street.

The icy glaze on the road at the intersection left a slippery surprise for many drivers.

Although the extreme cold will be short lived, many people are hoping for warmer conditions.
