Around 150 runners gathered at Redbud Park early Saturday morning to participate in a 5K run that honored a fallen police officer.

The 3rd annual Rodney's Run supports and remembers fallen APD officer, Rodney Holder who died in a traffic accident in 2010. His family started the event to raise money for a scholarship fund created in Rodney's name to support children of first responders.

Rodney's wife, Annemarie Holder says she's thankful for the support from the community and looks forward to the race each year. Her son Kyler has also played a huge role in keeping his father's name alive.

"We thank the community for their continued support," says Kyler. "We are getting through it and everyone is really helping us out along the way."

This year, Rodney's Run raised over $20,000 for the scholarship fund.
