A 12-year-old girl is spending her birthday at a hospital in Fort Worth Monday after she was kidnapped and left to die near a lake Sunday afternoon.

Clayton Lee Fought of Cisco, 21, is in the Eastland County Jail on a $3-million dollar bond. He's been charged with capital murder, aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping. According to the complaint, Fought admitted to his offenses.

As of Monday, the young victim is at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth where she's under stable conditions. The girl has been stabbed in the neck and leg, according to a family member.

The news has shocked the Eastland County community with many surprised about the crime happening in a small town.

"It blows my mind," says Cisco resident Kyle Wiley. "It's terrible what had happened there."

The victim was found in a wooded area near Lake Cisco. Wiley and other residents around the area say they saw emergency crews on top of a hill that is also an illegal dump site.

"It's sick, he must be sick in the head," adds Wiley.

Other locals are hoping the tragic news can inspire people to teach their kids and work together as a community.

"I think this is the time for everyone to work together and help stop cases like these," Eastland resident Elizabeth Escobedo said. "These people are sick in the head but they must know the crime they're doing."
