When the counterfeit were first thrown into circulation, they were mostly affecting local retailers. Now that the fake bills have been in circulation for a few weeks they are beginning to affect people who are looking to make a quick buck in their yard. Now they are forced to eat the lost and it's not sitting well with some.

The Better Business Bureau says that this crime is usually done by one person. They also say that this is one of the hardest crimes to solve, as the money might have changed many hands before the money is found to be fake.
