Couple Prepares For The Process Of Becoming Foster Parents

According to The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, 140 children in Taylor County are in foster care. Only 67 of them are actually placed in Taylor county, the others are moved elsewhere.

A local Abilene family with a mission to help children is ready to begin their journey of becoming foster parents. Russell and Linda Lemond, a former children's minister and a pre-school teacher, are starting the 2 to 3 month process of becoming a foster parents.

The couple is unable to have children of their own but are eager to give the love of a parent when they receive a foster child.
