With Christmas falling on a weekday, shopping on a weekend proved to be critical for many shoppers.

The Mall of Abilene saw a flood of people trying to finish their Christmas-wish list or begin holiday shopping. The stores were packed especially retail-giant Best Buy.

According to the manager, there's been plenty of people trying to grab last-minute deals but are disappointed to find that popular items are flying off the shelves. Favorite items are televisions, iPads, iPhones, Android and new gaming systems, according to the manager.

As a way to meet people's shopping needs, Best Buy stayed open late on Sunday. The store is extending their hours until midnight for the new few days.

The Mall of Abilene will stay open until 10 p.m. Monday and 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
