DA to Review Case of Abilene Man Accused of Shooting Mother

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Taylor County's District Attorney will review the case of an Abilene man accused of shooting his mother before any charges are filed.

Calvin Dunn, Jr, 21, turned himself in over a month after allegedly shooting his mother, Rene Crosby, 42, during an altercation at the Abilene North Apartments on the 2400 block of N. Willis Street on April 28, 2017.

Crosby was in critical condition following the shooting but did survive the attack.

Dunn was taken into custody without incident after his self-surrender Thursday night.

He's currently being held in jail on bonds totaling $20,000 for warrants unrelated to the shooting.

The Abilene Police Department told KTAB and KRBC the shooting case is still under investigation and will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for consideration of charges upon the investigation's conclusion.

BigCountryHomepage will provide the latest information on this case as soon as it becomes available.
