Black Friday may be over, but the year's biggest holiday weekend continues with Small Business Saturday.

This is the third year Small Business Saturday was adopted nationally, as a way to encourage people to support local stores.

Downtown Abilene stores are seeing the benefits from the national event, including Texas Star Trading Company, who says they've received more business on Saturday than they did on Black Friday.

Texas Star Trading Company has a variety of holiday gifts from gourmet food to local books. The unique items is one reason why people should pay attention to local shopping, according to owner Glenn Dromgoole.

Majority of the products are made specifically for the shop, making it hard to find in any other named brand stores.
