The team, comprised of Dyess airmen, normally hold projects such as building homes to benefit organizations or individuals, but this weekend, the car wash was to help the team's mission.
The 14th annual event offered free car washes, but the team asked for donations. The money raised will help buy new ladders for the team to continue to help and serve people in the community. However, this year has been slower compared to previous car-washing events.
"It has not been one of our best car washes and I think it is too nice of a day" Gordon Storey, founder said. "We have had quite a few customers and they've been very generous with their donations."
One of the largest donations by an individual was fifty dollars.
