More than 600 mothers gathered at the Abilene Civic Center Saturday afternoon to feel inspired.

Project Mom, an event hosted by a Dallas organization, helps provide resources for Texas mothers of all ages. The event is a one-day "get together" or a weekend-long workshop focused on helping mothers feel rejuvenated.

"The atmosphere was super energetic and we had tons of Moms that were so excited," says Project Mom emcee, Lisa Lloyd. "They had blast learning how they could be better."

The event featured 55 vendors that offered unique advice, resources and activities for everyone to participate in.

"We come together and have break-out sessions and shopping," coordinator Julie Petit said. "We have speakers from all across the nation discuss topics on discipline, meal-planning and parenting."

This was the first time Project Mom came to Abilene and organizers say they plan to host more in the future.
