Fire Destroys Two Warehouses in Snyder

SNYDER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Two warehouses were completely destroyed by a fire in Snyder Thursday morning.

The Snyder Volunteer Fire Department says a dilapidated warehouse on College Avenue caught fire just after 11:30 a.m.

The flames quickly spread to an adjacent warehouse a local furniture business was using for storage.

Both buildings were completely destroyed by the time emergency crews were able to get the fire under control about an hour and a half after it began, according to Snyder VFD.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. State fire officials are providing assistance due to the extensive amount of damage caused to the furniture store's inventory, which is estimated at $150,000 to $175,000.

A building behind the warehouses also sustained minor heat damage during the fire.
