Paramedic Injured During "Active Shooter" Situation in Dallas

DALLAS, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A paramedic and a bystander were shot during what appears to be another "active shooter" situation in Dallas Monday afternoon.

The Dallas Police Department confirmed the shooting via Twitter, saying "we can confirm one member of Dallas Fire Rescue has been shot and transported to a local hospital."

Dallas PD did not provided any further information, but around noon, the Dallas Police Officer's Association tweeted the following about the shooting: "There is another active shooter in Dallas. This time a fireman has been shot, and officers are pinned down by gunfire. Please pray!"

The paramedic, an 11-year-veteran of the force, is in critical condition, according to a report from KXAS, which says a bystander who was also shot is in stable condition.

Police say the scene of the shooting near Dolphin and I-30 is still active and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
