The city of Clyde continued its Fourth of July festivities into the weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, the city held its 8th Annual Festival by the Lake. It started out with three bands playing prior to the fireworks show on Friday. The next day, the event included a carnival, food vendors, a cook-off, and a volleyball tournament.

All of the musicians that performed are locals from Clyde or Abilene. To wrap things up, the event held another fireworks show at 10 p.m.

The event coordinator says he is happy with the turnout this year.

"We normally have four to six thousand people out but we are going to exceed that number this year," says Terry Davis, event coordinator.

The festival was free, but attendees could donate to help pay the festival's expenses.
