Roses can add color and beauty to your background, but they can also be a lot of work. For the past couple of months Master Gardener, Molly Lorch has been taking care of a test garden at Cisco College in Abilene. If a flower does well, it is classified as earth kind. Meaning the flower is low maintenance. The majority of the flowers are different types of dwarf roses. After a year of nourishment, the judging begins. Each of the roses are then scored from one to ten, one being the worst and ten the best. After two months of testing, most of the results have been positive, with lots of 7’s, 8’s, and 9’s. No perfect 10’s however. Lorch is quite impressed, considering how hot and dry we are in West Texas.
