“You can search Abilene Garden Group on Facebook and then you can join from there,” says member Mike Martin.
Basically you can talk to other gardeners via the Internet, kind of how I’m talking to Martin through Skype.
"My favorite part are the pictures and what people are getting,” says Martin.
As of right now, the group has about twenty five members, not bad for only being up for a couple of months. On there you'll find a lot of familiar faces from my green reports.
"If they have a problem they can get a solution from other people,” adds Martin.
You don't have to have a green thumb to join. Texas can be a hard place to garden. Which is why Martin created the group.
"I actually went online and thought there would already be a group and there wasn't which is why I decided to start the group. I like to grow some unusual stuff that probably no one in Abilene has ever grown,” says Martin.
By talking to Martin I’m learning new information too.
"I like to add stuff to the soil, I also add a mineral that has trace vitamins, that way your fruits and vegetables can get the best nutrition they can."
If you want to learn more about gardening, the process is just a click away.
