It’s been a year since Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Abilene started to make their garden grow. With summer behind us, and fall wrapping up, they are now getting ready for winter. Sweet potatoes are being picked and the ground is preparing for compost. Roses are also in bloom now. Wes Grigsby is the mastermind behind the garden, and according to him the number of volunteers continues to grow. Kids have always played a role in the garden, but have made more of an influence with time. With the seasons changing and temperatures dropping, it will be a couple of months before work sessions get going again. For the Jones family, this was their first time helping out.
