Black Friday is in a few days and many stores in the Big Country are preparing for the sales event.

Heartland Mall will experience its first Black Friday under its new management. Since taking over as property manager in February, Brittany Cooley says she's seen an improvement.

"Since this is a small mall, I wear many different hats," Cooley said. "We want to be on top of marketing, cleanliness, and keeping the tenants happy."

Cooley says she made it her mission to add more stores, and events that involve the community to help generate foot traffic. In the past two months, there's been four new stores open and has hosted an event each weekend.

The mall is currently in talks with another national chain store but right now, they're preparing for Black Friday and will open their doors at 7 a.m. The mall will have a raffle where people can win a television and mall certificates. The first hundred customers will receive a bag full coupons for all the stores.
