Feral hogs are turning out to be a big problem for the Abilene area, dead or alive. City of Abilene crews have noticed an increase in the number of dead feral hog bodies dumped in creeks.

Other dead varmits such as fox, coyotes, and raccoons are also being dumped . The ongoing problem causes creeks to flood.

Taylor County Environmental Enforcement Officer, A.D. Bush, says he is considering buying game cameras to place in the area in order to catch those who are dumping carcasses, or even trash.

Charges for dumping a dead animal vary, depending on how much it weighs.
