In Baird, children arrived at Baird Park for their annual Easter egg hunt. The fire station brought out all the kids in firetrucks to search for 6,000 eggs filled with candies and prizes.
The event was organized by members of the Baird Park Project who say their goal was to bring the community together.
"In Baird we love to get together," says coordinator Tracee Gunter. "We love to have a reason to get together but just haven't done that in the last few years."
Gunter adds that they hope to host more events in the future.
In Abilene, hundreds were at New Hope Church for their Easter egg hunting event. The church featured an indoor egg hunt that was divided into different age categories.
Kids were treated to horse back riding, bounce houses, prizes and free food. This has been an annual event for 15 years but this was the first time the church held an indoor hunt.
