The Abilene Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) coordinates transportation planning in the Taylor and Jones County region. The MPO is soliciting projects for inclusion in the FY 2015-2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). The MTP is a list of long-range street, highway, transit, rail, bicycle, and pedestrian projects to be funded with Federal, State, and local funds for the next twenty years.

Project nomination forms and citizen surveys are being utilized to help plan and program future transportation projects within the region. These forms and surveys are available at the MPO Offices, Texas Department of Transportation, Abilene City Hall, Abilene libraries, and via www.abilenempo.org. Please share your ideas for transportation needs by filling out the project nomination form and/or the survey and returning it to the MPO.

Project nomination forms will be accepted through June 23, 2014 by 5:00 pm. The forms can be emailed to abilenempo@abilenetx.com or mailed to: Abilene MPO, 402 Cypress Street, Suite 519, Abilene, Texas 79601.
