APD Executes Search Warrant at Local CPS

The Abilene Police Department is executing a search warrant at the local CPS office.

The search is in relation to the case of Tiffany Klapheke whose neglect lead to the death of one of her children, and the hospitalization of the other two.

The Houston Chronicle reported Monday that Abilene's local CPS office had been investigating the Klapheke case for 11 months before the police were called in, and closed the case only days before the death of Klapheke's middle child.

Abilene police have said little about the investigation itself at this time, but a press conference is scheduled for later Tuesday afternoon in order to address questions concerning the case.

More details will be released as they become available.

Klapheke is currently in jail on three counts of injury to a child.
