Big Brothers Big Sisters starts school supply drive

Already planning for next school year, Big brothers Big Sisters of Abilene is starting their 8th annual school supply drive.

The yearly event is held in partnership with Prosperity Bank; this year's goal is to collect one-hundred backpacks along with plenty of school supplies to fill them.

Those supplies and pack will be given to children participating in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

"Studies show that if students are prepared on the first day of school with backpacks an supplies and are ready to go, they're going to be more successful and we want to give every child that opportunity to be successful and start the year off right," commented Jesse Cardenas, VP of Prosperity Bank.

The event will be held until August 8th and if you would like to donate you can head to any of the 5 Prosperity Bank locations or reach out to the organization.
