"It's been cool to watch her grow up. When we were first matched it seemed like she was just a baby. Now she is thirteen going on twenty," says Katie Singleton.
It was four years ago, that Singleton, a freshmen in college, decided to become a Big Sister for the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
"This program has really helped me to appreciate stuff in a new way. So I make time for it. Even if I feel like I don't have time. There is always time," says Singleton.
Little Sister, Gabby says she can always depend on her Big Sister, Katie and she hopes to be just like her when she grows up.
"I like how she says when she is coming; she is always early. She makes me laugh and she inspires me to go to college and finish it," says Gabby.
Gabby say it's hard to imagine what life would be like without her Big Sis.
"It'd probably be pretty boring. I'd probably be at home just doing nothing," said Gabby.
Instead, the two sisters have fun doing just about anything as long as their together.
"We really like to do things that are inexpensive. We can be entertained really easily."
Singleton says it's important for kids in the community to have outside resources to help them grow and thrive in society.
