Brownwood used a nation-wide event to prevent crime to kick-off their own National Night Out event.

With the Texas National Night Out in October, Brownwood officials wanted to use the national event to bring the community together instead of just the neighborhood parties.

Law enforcement says it's a great way to bring the community together to keep crime prevention on everyone's mind.

Locals that attended the kick-off party say it does make them feel safer knowing that the community is working together.
