So you're not a fan of clipping coupons or sorting through the weekly specials? Don't worry, there are still ways to save some money at the supermarket.

Start with the perimeter of the store. That's where the produce section, the meat and seafood sections, and the dairy cases usually are. Avoiding the middle aisles with prepackaged snacks can not only help avoid impulse buys and save you money, it can make for a healthier basket too.

When comparing the prices of brands, or when comparing brand names versus the store's brand, the key number is the unit price -- the price per pound, per ounce or per pint. You'll likely see it on the shelf next to the item's price.

Items on sale and items purchased in bulk can be a great way to save money, but only if you're going to use all of it. Otherwise it's just a waste of money and of food.

How do you save on your grocery trips? Do you take a stack of coupons with you, or do you just look for items on sale?

Or perhaps you're just on a mission to get in and out as quickly as possible?

Either way, we want to know!
