On average, between the candy, costumes, and decor--how much do you spend on Halloween celebrations?

Billions will be spent on candy, costumes and more.

A survey from the National Retail Federation finds households expect to spend less on Halloween this year than they did last year-- just over $75, down from $79.82 in 2012.

Total spending on the holiday is expected to reach $6.9 billion, down from $8 billion last year.

$2.6 billion will be spent on costumes--that includes pet costumes.

Nearly $2.1 billion will be spent on candy.

And almost $2 billion on spooky home decor.

While Halloween may not be a big deal in some households, it can be a big deal for retailers.

It's the last major event on the calendar before the crucial holiday season and often offers clues into how much shoppers will be willing to spend on holiday gifts.

So how much do you dish out for Halloween?
