A new Canadian study found kids who never played outside got 21 fewer minutes of exercise, and 70 more minutes of sedentary time than kids who spent most of their time outside.
More outside play was also linked to better cardiovascular fitness.
About 1/3 of the kids in the study got the recommended hour of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day.
Many children spend countless hours inside, in front of the television during the summer. Should parents force activity, even if kids "don't wanna"?
